Fairfield Elementary School Club site is making an IMPACT!

Thanks to our wonderful partnership with Fort Wayne Community Schools, this fall we incorporated a Boys & Girls Club site within Fairfield Elementary School. Everyday after school, about 40 Kindergarten through fifth grade students make their way through the halls to the Club. Together they are working closely to build, encourage and equip kids with all they need to be caring, responsible and productive.

And what an impact it is having! A Fairfield Elementary teacher recently wrote: “Please tell the Boys & Girls Club what a good job they are doing with Blayne (who is in Kindergarten). I can tell that they are working with him. He is using scissors so much better and he can write his name. Let them know that whatever they are doing is working.”

This club is all about building good character and leadership and academic success. The kids are actively engaged in creating the messages displayed on bulletin boards. When you walk into the club, you are greeted with a bulletin board displaying the No Bullying Pledge: Before you speak, think, and be smart. It’s hard to fix a wrinkled heart.  In correlation to Thanksgiving, there is a gratitude board with thankful messages and even the staff are highlighted and made to feel special!
